A beautiful polished orthaceras (Cephalopod) fossil specimen trinket bowl in the shape of a fish measuring 5.5" x 2.75" from the Atlas Mountains in Morocco.

*minerals in bowl are not included

Orthoceras are extinct "straight" cephalopods that lived during the Upper Devonian period around 370 million years ago. Like other cephalopods they lived inside of their shell, had tentacles they could use to grab food and used jet propulsion, squirting water to move.

Because of their beauty after polishing they are highly valued as decorative pieces such as this beautiful bowl.
