Knightia was a schooling fish that is sometimes found in mass mortality layers confined to a single plane, indicative of a single event. Theories as to the reasons include stratified water turnovers as well as poisoning due to blooms of blue-green algae. It's the most common type of fossil fish found in the Green River Formation of Wyoming. Our Knightia are found, prepared, and packaged to you from our private quarry near Kemmerer, WY.

This particular Knightia measures:
Length: 3"
Plate: 3.75" x 3.75"
