Moldavite is a tektite; natural glass formed from terrestrial debris ejected during a meteorite impact.  Moldavite is estimated to be around 15 million years old.  Because it is only present in one specific range in Central Europe, moldavite is incredibly rare.  This range is located primarily in the Czech Republic, but also in Germany and Austria.
