Agates from Brazil are mined from decomposed volcanic ash and basalt around Rio Grande do Sul from the late Permian age (248-275 million years). Brazilian agates can be found as sizable geodes of layered nodules. These agates can be very colorful mostly having brown tones with layered whites, grays, beiges and reds. These agates polish absolutely beautifully.
