This is a split pair positive/negative of a beautiful, undescribed Monocot flower, possibly of the family Amaryllidaceae with great preservation.

 

Negative plate approx. size: 8" x 6"

Negative flower approx. size: 2" x 1.75"

Positive plate approx. size: 9" x 6.25"

Positive flower approx. size: 2" x 1.75"

  

They are the most common flower in the Green River Formation and are referred to as "tube flowers" by fossil quarriers. These flowers are among several Monocot families found in the Green River Formation. Monocots are angiosperms in which the major veins run parallel to each other (rather than branching) along the length of the leaf.
