Fossilized Leaves in Travertine | Austria
These beautiful and unique fossilized leaves specimen with nice veining are from the Tirol region of Austria. They are preserved in travertine which captured their very delicate and detailed leaf structures. Specimen leaf 1 measures approx: 2.5" x 1.5", other leaves measure approx: 1.75" x .75", bonus leaf on the backside. Travertine matrix measures approx: 6" x 5" x 1.25"
Travertine is a rich form of limestone. These interesting limestone deposits have been dated circa 13,500 years ago.
