This is a well preserved specimen. The rock in which the salamander was found is quite thin so it is backed for stability. There are some repaired cracks through the rock. Parts of the head, left forelimb, and tail have been restored.
Chelotriton is an extinct genus of salamander that closely resembles two living salamanders Tylototriton and Echinotriton.
