DESCRIPTION

This impressive fossil displays the skull of a Steneosaurus bollensis, a crocodile from the Lower Jurassic Posidonia Shale Formation (Lias Epsilon, approximately 180 million years ago). The remarkable specimen stands out for its extraordinary size and strongly elongated skull, which immediately draws attention. Its striking features and fine details make it a fascinating eye-catcher. Radiating a captivating aura, this decorative piece is a testament to the prehistoric reptile world and invites admiration for the wonders of ancient life.
Steneosaurus bollensis was a large, piscivorous marine reptile adapted to
shallow epicontinental seas. Its elongated body and streamlined skull, armed with interlocking conical teeth, reflect specialization for rapid swimming and active predation along the margins of the Jurassic Tethys.

Due to the size of this specimen, it will be shipped in an internationally compliant wooden crate. For easy wall hanging, a custom made metal hanging system is included as well.
