Nephrite Jade is a timeless gemstone admired for its smooth texture, durability, and rich shades of green that range from soft, creamy hues to deep forest tones. As one of the two true forms of Jade (the other being Jadeite), Nephrite is treasured for its toughness and silky luster when polished.

Nephrite Jade is a variety of the amphibole mineral actinolite, belonging to the tremolite-actinolite series. Chemically, it is a calcium magnesium iron silicate. Its microcrystalline fibrous structure gives it exceptional toughness, making it more resistant to breakage than most other gemstones. Nephrite typically displays a waxy to silky luster and occurs in shades of green ranging from pale to deep emerald, depending on iron content. It forms in metamorphic environments, particularly in serpentinite deposits. With a Mohs hardness of 6-6.5 and high fracture resistance, nephrite was historically used for tools and weapons before becoming a highly valued ornamental stone. For thousands of years, cultures around the world have valued nephrite jade for its beauty and symbolic meaning - often associated with harmony, protection, and prosperity.
